OXNARD, Calif. — An Oxnard woman has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of tens of thousands of dollars from a local dental practice, according to the Oxnard Police Department.

Police said an officer responded on Wednesday, October 3, 2025, to Rose Dental Group at 2731 South Rose Avenue after the business reported suspected financial misconduct by an employee. The dental practice conducted an internal investigation and identified Stephanie Gonzales, 35, of Oxnard, as the primary suspect.

An initial police report was completed and forwarded to the Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit (PCU) for further investigation. Working closely with the practice’s owner, a PCU financial fraud investigator reviewed extensive financial documentation.

Investigators determined that approximately $87,000 had allegedly been misappropriated from the business over the course of the previous year.

On December 4, 2025, at around 9:50 a.m., detectives with the Property Crimes Unit arrested Gonzales on suspicion of felony grand theft from an employer.

The Oxnard Police Department stated that its Property Crimes Unit remains committed to combating fraud-related offenses through thorough investigations and strict enforcement of the law.
