In a significant police operation on Tuesday, two robbery suspects were arrested following a confrontation in Dhilwan village of Kapurthala district. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaurav Toora confirmed that the accused sustained injuries during the retaliatory firing by the police.
The suspects have been identified as Labh Singh and Joga Singh, residents of Latianwal village in the district. Both are currently under medical observation.
According to SSP Toora, acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the accused near Dhilwan village and signaled them to stop. However, the suspects attempted to flee, causing their motorcycle to slip. In the ensuing chaos, the accused opened fire on the police team.
