Two residents of Srinagar, Ibrahim Dar and Ehsan Ul Haq, have been arrested by Delhi Cyber Police in connection with a cyber fraud case amounting to Rs78 lakh. The accused were apprehended along with Amjad, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, at a rented flat in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. The trio allegedly swindled money by using the WhatsApp profile of the Tex India Group owner.

The fraud came to light after Sarvesh Dwivedi, the account manager of Tex India Group, filed a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station, reporting a fraudulent transaction of Rs78 lakh. Investigations led to the arrest of the accused, who were operating from a flat they rented for Rs80,000 per month.

During the investigation, police recovered laptops and iPhones from the suspects. Ibrahim Dar admitted to transferring the stolen amount to a fake bank account in Jammu and Kashmir opened under Amjad’s name. Authorities are currently tracking additional fraudulent accounts linked to the gang.

The mastermind behind the scam, Wing Sang Shu, a resident of China, is currently absconding. Another suspect, Ovais, is being pursued by the authorities. The arrested individuals have been transferred to Lucknow for further investigation.

Reports indicate that one of the accused, Ehsan Ul Haq, had completed a technical degree from a college in Jammu and Kashmir. The gang targeted victims by contacting them through online chats and deceiving them into transferring money.

Currently, Ibrahim Dar and Ehsan Ul Haq are detained in a police station in Lucknow, while Amjad’s bank account has been frozen as part of the ongoing investigation.
