Srinagar Police Arrest Two Drug Dealers with Charas Worth Rs1.2 Lakh

Zubair Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad Shiek apprehended with 120g of contraband.

In a routine Naka checking operation near Malkha Chowk, a police party from the Nawhatta Police Station, under the supervision of SHO Malik Naseer, apprehended an individual under suspicious circumstances on the afternoon of [Date]. The arrested person, identified as Zubair Ahmad Ahanger, son of Amin Ahanger, a resident of Kathi Darwaza, was found in possession of approximately 40 grams of a substance suspected to be charas.

Upon further investigation, Zubair disclosed the identity of another suspect, Bilal Ahmad Shiek, son of Gh Qadir Shiek, a resident of Tujgari Mohalla. Bilal was apprehended at Old Malka Chowk, and a personal search revealed approximately 80 grams of the same substance.

Both individuals were arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An FIR has been lodged at Police Station Nawhatta, and further investigation is underway.

Srinagar Police are urging the public to stay vigilant and report any drug-related activities. Anyone witnessing drug peddling can contact their nearest police station or call emergency number 112 for immediate action.
