Srinagar Police Arrest Three in Mosque Donation Box Burglary

Cash Recovered; Swift Car Used in Crime Seized

Srinagar Police have cracked a burglary case by arresting three suspects involved in stealing cash from a mosque donation box at Syed Rahman Chowk, Nishat.

On the intervening night of February 1-2, 2025, unknown thieves broke into the donation box of a mosque/shrine and made off with cash, as reported to Police Station Nishat. The incident was promptly registered under FIR No. 07/2025.

Using intelligence inputs and technical evidence, police investigators swiftly identified and apprehended the accused: Aamir Rafiq, son of Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh Dobhi from Buchwara Dalgate; Mohd Sufyan Bage, son of Mohd Rafiq Bage from Bage Mohalla Uri Baramula (A/P Gulab Mohalla Dalgate); and Danish Bashir Khan, son of Late Bashir Ahmad Khan from Buchwara Dalgate (A/P Sumo Stand Khunmoh).

The vehicle used in the crime, a Swift car with registration number JK04A-5786, was also seized. Upon interrogation, the accused led police to the recovery of the stolen cash.

Authorities continue investigations while commending the swift police action in solving the case.
