In a determined effort to eradicate drug trafficking, Srinagar Police apprehended three drug peddlers and recovered a significant quantity of contraband.
According to police sources, a team from Police Post Noorbagh set up a checkpoint at Noorbagh Chowk, where they stopped a vehicle (KUV-100) with registration number JK01AD-2899. The three individuals on board were identified as Ahmad Bin Ishaq Kawa (resident of Nawakadal), Daniyal Ahmad Basati (resident of Palpora Noorbagh), and Taha Yasir (resident of Aalikadal Srinagar).
During the search, authorities seized 184 grams of charas. The suspects were arrested, and the vehicle involved in the crime was also confiscated.
An FIR (No. 24/2025) under the NDPS Act has been registered at Safakadal Police Station, and the investigation is underway.
The police urged the public to report any drug-related or criminal activities by contacting nearby police stations or dialing 112. Authorities assured strict action against offenders under the law.
