Srijan Niraula Arrested for Rs 1.5 Million Job Scam in Kathmandu

20-year-old swindled 12 victims promising Singapore jobs

KATHMANDU, May 12: Police have arrested 20-year-old Srijan Niraula for defrauding 12 individuals of Rs 1.5 million.

Niraula, who currently lives in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, and hails from Bahradashi Municipality 6 in Jhapa, allegedly lured victims by promising employment opportunities at a reputable hotel in Singapore.

Following a tip-off from the Foreign Employment Department, the Valley Crime Investigation Office apprehended Niraula from Sinamangal, Kathmandu, on Wednesday night.

The accused has been handed over to the Foreign Employment Department in Buddhanagar for further investigation.
