In a major breakthrough, the police of Sribhumi City have successfully dismantled a large-scale mobile phone theft operation, leading to the arrest of six individuals. The operation, linked to an organized ring of thieves, has been operating extensively within the region, with its roots tracing back to West Bengal.
The arrest followed an extensive investigation by Nilambazar Police, who gathered intelligence over time, culminating in a late-night raid at the railway gate vicinity. During the raid, police apprehended six suspects and recovered ten sacks containing dismantled mobile phone components. This discovery highlighted the advanced nature of the operation, where stolen phones were being disassembled for resale.
A significant lead came from the detention of Sheikh Aslam in the Suprakandi area, who was found in possession of seven stolen mobile phones. Following his interrogation, police tracked down a rented house near the railway gate. Upon searching the property, law enforcement uncovered 39 high-end Android smartphones along with various accessories, all of which were confirmed to be stolen.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sheikh Aslam, Nur Uddin, Tuta Sheikh, Hakim Sheikh, Amirul Islam, and Asma Sheikh. The authorities are now conducting further investigations to uncover the full extent of the operation and its potential links to wider criminal networks involved in mobile phone theft.
