Bryce A. LaNear, 27, of Springfield, Missouri, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine. LaNear was also found guilty of possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking activities, as confirmed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri.

From April 2017 to October 2019, LaNear admitted to conspiring with others to distribute cocaine and over 500 grams of methamphetamine in the Springfield area. The case against him included multiple undercover transactions and evidence of firearms connected to his distribution activities.

LaNear’s arrest in April 2017 marked a turning point in the investigation, during which law enforcement discovered large quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine, along with five firearms. Further investigations led to additional seizures, including more methamphetamine and firearms found during search warrants executed in 2018.

In total, LaNear was responsible for distributing more than nine kilograms of methamphetamine and over three kilograms of cocaine in the Springfield region. His sentence reflects the severity of his actions and the role he played in the local drug trade.

The conviction highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and possession of firearms in furtherance of such activities, as well as the impact of these crimes on communities.
