by Ananya Mehta

Southwest Delhi police arrested Mahender Singh Rajawat, Ariph Khan, and Laxmi Narayan Vaishy for duping victims of Rs15.8 lakh in a cryptocurrency scam. The trio transferred funds to Chinese handlers under the pretense of paying for positive online reviews.

The scam unraveled when a victim, lured by offers promising money for favorable reviews, realized the fraud. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest), Amit Goel, the accused exploited false reasons like welfare appeals and credit score improvements to deceive victims.

Police conducted raids in Jaipur, Ajmer, and nearby areas, seizing six smartphones containing evidence. These devices revealed detailed transaction histories and communications with foreign operatives, primarily through encrypted messaging apps.

Investigations are ongoing to trace the full network behind the scam.
