The MIDC police have arrested two men in connection with the theft of industrial equipment from a hydraulic machinery company located in Amar Nagar, MIDC. The accused — Sonu Shahu (24) of Tulsi Nagar and Suraj Shahu (32) of Omsai Nagar — were caught following a swift technical investigation.
The burglary occurred between July 18 and 19, when company owner Prashant Shivhare (45) locked the premises and returned home. Upon returning the next morning, he discovered that thieves had broken into the workshop and stolen hydraulic jacks, iron pipes, tip sheets, and structural materials valued at Rs1.65 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, MIDC police traced the stolen goods to a scrap shop in Kalamna. During the raid, the team recovered the industrial materials and also seized the vehicle allegedly used in the crime. The two accused were detained from the location and have since confessed to their involvement.
Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused are linked to other similar thefts in the area.
