Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has found himself in legal trouble as a Ludhiana court has issued an arrest warrant against him in connection with a Rs10 lakh fraud case. The warrant was issued by Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur after Sood repeatedly failed to appear for court testimony, despite multiple summons.
The case was filed by Rajesh Khanna, a Ludhiana-based lawyer, who accused Mohit Shukla of defrauding him of Rs10 lakh by luring him into an investment scheme involving fake Rijika coins. The court required Sonu Sood to testify as a witness in the case. However, despite receiving several official notices, the actor did not attend court, prompting the issuance of the arrest warrant.
The court order mandates the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai to arrest Sood and bring him before the court. Magistrate Kaur emphasized that the actor had been notified multiple times and was aware of the proceedings but had failed to appear. This non-compliance led to the warrant, with a hearing scheduled for February 10.
As of now, neither Sonu Sood nor his legal team has issued an official statement on the matter. Known for his charitable efforts, the actor’s reputation has taken a hit, adding to his list of challenges. With the next court hearing fast approaching, many are waiting to see if Sonu Sood will address the legal proceedings or if further actions will follow.
