A 40-year-old man, identified as Sonu, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 65-year-old mother after a heated argument over money. The incident took place in the Dayalpur area of northeast Delhi on Friday night.
Police were alerted at around 9 pm and responded quickly to find the elderly woman’s lifeless body at the residence. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Sonu, a driver by profession, had been unemployed for some time and was struggling with drug addiction.
According to authorities, Sonu and his mother frequently argued, with financial issues being a significant source of conflict. On the night of the murder, the two had yet another argument over money, which escalated, ultimately leading Sonu to kill his mother.
The police have arrested Sonu, and a post-mortem of the victim’s body has been carried out at GTB Hospital. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to gather more details surrounding the tragic event.
