In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Dispur Police have seized suspected drugs valued at nearly Rs1 crore during a targeted raid in the city. The operation led to the recovery of 219 grams of illegal substances and the arrest of one individual.
The accused has been identified as Sonar Khan, who was apprehended at the scene with the contraband. He is currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation to uncover possible links to a larger drug network.
Police officials said the operation was conducted based on credible intelligence, and more arrests may follow. Authorities have intensified surveillance and anti-drug operations in and around Dispur and Guwahati, as part of a broader effort to curb the rise in drug-related crimes.
