Sonamura: On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the Sonamura Police arrested a Bangladeshi national in connection with violations of immigration laws.
The accused has been identified as Manir Hossain (37), son of Sirajul Islam, from Baraipara, PS-Chatkhil, District-Noakhali, Bangladesh.
A case has been registered at Sonamura Police Station under the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025 and the BNS Act 2023.
Inspector Tapas Das, Officer-in-Charge of Sonamura Police Station, told the media that operations targeting illegal foreign nationals would continue to ensure border security and law enforcement.
