The city crime branch arrested Sohan Dawar, a resident of Maheshwar, on Tuesday after recovering over 10 kilograms of ganja valued at Rs 2.1 lakh from his possession. Police received a tip-off that a man carrying ganja was roaming in the Rajendra Nagar area.
When the crime branch team arrived, the suspect tried to flee but was quickly cornered and arrested. Dawar admitted purchasing the cannabis locally at a cheap rate with plans to sell it at a higher price.
The police seized the ganja and the accused’s mobile phone. He has been booked under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act. The investigation is currently underway.
