PHILADELPHIA, PA — Six individuals were sentenced this week in federal court for immigration-related offenses, including illegal reentry and passport fraud, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.
Ronal Leonardo Suarez, 44, from Guatemala, received a sentence of time served—three months—for illegal reentry after his 2003 deportation. Demetrio Pulido Urbina, 39, from Mexico, was similarly sentenced to time served, just over four months, for his fourth illegal reentry since 2015. Both men are slated for deportation after their sentences.
Guatemalan nationals Gonzalo Hernandez-Roque, 28, and Guillermo Lopez-Ramirez, 34, who had also been deported and reentered illegally, were sentenced to time served. Martin Astudillo Estrada, 41, from Mexico, received a four-month prison sentence for repeated illegal reentries dating back to 2000.
All five illegal reentry cases were prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lizmar Bosques, Rosalynda M. Michetti, Robert Schopf, Rebecca J. Kulik, and Robert J. Livermore. The investigations were conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations.
Separately, Andres De La Rosa Hernandez, 61, a Dominican native, was sentenced to time served—approximately two months—for making false statements in passport applications. Officials revealed Hernandez fraudulently obtained and renewed U.S. passports over several years by assuming the identity of a U.S. citizen. His case was investigated by the Diplomatic Security Service and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert J. Livermore.
