Tiruppur District Police have arrested six additional suspects in connection with the murder of 41-year-old lawyer L. Muruganantham, a practitioner at the Madras High Court, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 12.
The latest arrests were made on Sunday, August 3, 2025, and include the following individuals from Namakkal district:
Balamurugan (44)
Sathish Kumar (44)
Sasikumar (33)
Sudarsan (40)
Annadurai (36)
Muruganantham (50)
Police have not yet disclosed the exact motive behind the murder but confirmed that the operation to trace all suspects is still in progress. These arrests follow earlier detentions in the same case, reflecting the complex and premeditated nature of the crime.
The victim, L. Muruganantham, was a well-known legal practitioner associated with several civil and criminal cases and was reportedly targeted due to a long-standing enmity.
Authorities continue to investigate the broader network behind the killing and have stated that more arrests could follow.
