In a significant crackdown on narcotics, six individuals were arrested on February 8 for allegedly attempting to sell MDMA, a banned party drug, in the city.

Acting on a tip-off, police attempted to stop a vehicle on Falnir road, but the suspects tried to flee upon spotting the officers. After intercepting the vehicle, authorities discovered 20.52 grams of MDMA, along with a car and a scooter, which were seized as part of the evidence.

The arrested suspects have been identified as:

Dhanish D Kanchan (19)

Prithvik (18) from Pandeshwar

Faiz Amber from Bavutagudda

Tushan D Suvarna (19) from Jalligudde

Rajin (21)

Afghan (20) from Falnir

All six are being booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act), and further investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the drugs and whether the group has links to larger drug networks.
