Three days after a grocery shop owner was robbed of Rs 38 lakh in Indirapuram, police have arrested six suspects, all in their 20s. The accused include two employees of the grocery store. Meanwhile, four other accused remain absconding.

The store owner, Parvesh Vishnoi, a resident of Siddharth Vihar, reportedly owns two grocery shops located in Vasundhara and Cloud-9, Ahinsa Khand, Indirapuram. Initial reports stated the accused escaped with Rs 5 lakh, but after police recovered Rs 23 lakh, Vishnoi admitted to carrying Rs 38 lakh.

Police suspect that the money could be linked to hawala transactions. Additional Commissioner of Police Alok Priyadarshi stated that the income tax department would be informed for further investigation.

The arrested suspects include Mukul Singh (24) and Nitesh Singh (26) from Crossing Republik, Ghaziabad, and Surendra Kumar (24), Akash Kumar (24), Vivek (20), and Vishal Singh (24) from Gautam Budh Nagar.

Investigations revealed that Mukul Singh orchestrated the robbery and recruited Surendra Kumar, who has 13 previous cases related to snatching and robbery registered across police stations in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi.

A case was registered at Indirapuram police station under Section 309(4) (robbery) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNS) based on the victim’s complaint.
