BAY COUNTY, Fla. — Six people have been arrested for allegedly stealing merchandise from multiple retail stores in Panama City Beach on Wednesday, authorities reported.

According to court documents, shortly before 1 p.m., the suspects were observed at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Pier Park hiding items in a display backpack before leaving the store and dropping the bag inside. Security footage later showed the group entering Burlington at Panama City Beach Parkway and exiting with several bags of stolen merchandise totaling approximately $500.

A witness captured images of the suspects’ vehicles, which led law enforcement to conduct traffic stops shortly afterward. One vehicle was stopped near Burlington on Hawkins Avenue, while the second was located about 30 minutes later at the intersection of Highway 231 and FL-167. During both stops, officers reportedly recovered stolen merchandise.

Police said the stolen items came from Burlington, T.J. Maxx, Ulta, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Ross, with the total value of theft estimated at over $900.

The suspects — Robert Louis Golden, 27; Izz Ethan Douglas, 22; Cordajah Smith, 22; Vershundra Mershay Curry, 31; Shavannah Latrice Moreland, 35; and Jaliyah Naeva Garrett, 18 — have been charged with retail theft of $750 or more from multiple locations and grand theft between $750 and $5,000.
