Six Arrested in Morganton Motel Drug & Gun Bust

Police seize meth, fentanyl, and firearms in three-day operation

Morganton, N.C. – A multi-day police operation at the Super 8 Motel on South Sterling Street led to the arrest of six people and the seizure of drugs and firearms on March 7.

What Police Found:
🔹 Meth, fentanyl, Xanax, cocaine, weed, and suboxone
🔹 Two firearms

The motel had been the subject of nearly 80 complaints of drug and criminal activity, prompting officers to launch the three-day crackdown.

Arrested Individuals & Charges:
Roderick Caldwell – Outstanding warrants
Tyler South – Possession of Schedule II drugs, probation violation
Ashley Scott – Possession of Schedule VI drugs, possession of a controlled substance in jail
Robin Surratt – Probation violation, failure to appear on a felony
Winter Fox – Possession of Schedule II drugs
Brandon Perry – Possession of Schedule II drugs
Authorities noted that the motel accepts FEMA vouchers for temporary housing, but it remains unclear if any of the arrested individuals were using them.
