In a significant crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested six individuals linked to heroin smuggling across Udhampur, Jammu, and Kathua districts. The operation resulted in the recovery of over 58 grams of heroin from the suspects.
Among those detained was Arun Choudhary, who was caught near the Tawi bridge in Jaganoo carrying 5.81 grams of heroin. Authorities acted after observing suspicious behavior, which led to his arrest.
Other suspects—Arun Singh, Mohd Rustam Shah, and Rubel Sharma alias Chinko—were apprehended at different locations in Jammu during raids on Monday night. Meanwhile, Liyaqat Ali and Sajad Hussain were arrested in Kathua with heroin in their possession.
All six individuals are currently facing legal action under applicable narcotics control laws, with investigations ongoing.
