The Prohibition and Excise Department arrested six persons in multiple cases of drug peddling on Saturday and seized a total of 7.6 kilograms of ganja, along with MDMA and non-duty-paid liquor.
In the first case, the Shamshabad Drug Task Force (DTF) arrested Dileep Koch, a resident of Assam, after recovering 1.3 kilograms of ganja from his possession. Officials said Koch had procured the drug from his native place and planned to sell it to workers at various construction sites in Hyderabad.
In the second case, the State Task Force (STF) apprehended three persons — Jaganath, Suraj, and Rohan — all from Odisha, at Saroornagar HUDA Colony. Police seized 6.30 kilograms of ganja from them. Investigations revealed that the trio had purchased the drug in Odisha and travelled to Hyderabad to sell it to local consumers.
In the third case, the Shamshabad STF arrested Teja and Sai Charan while they were transporting ganja and MDMA from Bengaluru to Hyderabad. Police recovered 5.39 grams of MDMA along with non-duty-paid liquor bottles from their possession.
Officials said investigations are ongoing to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the narcotics network.
