A special team of the Bihar Special Task Force (STF), aided by Patna police, arrested six suspects from Patna City and Motihari on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in a high-value robbery at a jewellery shop in Bokaro district, Jharkhand, on June 23.
The arrested include Rahul Patel alias Diamond from Chowk, Roshan Singh from Bettiah, Nitesh Kumar from Vaishali district, Aditya Raj from Motihari, and two others—Prince Kumar Suman and Musafir Hawari—nabbed from Motihari. Police recovered jewellery, cash, and a vehicle from their possession.
On June 23, four masked men entered a well-known jewellery store in Prabhat Colony Mor under Chas police station, posing as customers before brandishing guns and robbing jewellery worth crores.
During the arrest, 23 gold rings, six mangalsutras, a bracelet, Rs 13,820 in cash, an SUV, and three mobile phones were seized. All suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation. Authorities are searching for the remaining stolen jewellery. Rahul Patel has a prior case registered at Chowk police station, and investigations into others’ criminal records are ongoing.
