Six individuals in Bedford County, Virginia, were arrested and charged with narcotics and firearm-related offenses following a major operation conducted by local and state law enforcement agencies, Bedford County Sheriff Mike Miller announced.
The arrests came as a result of a collaborative effort between the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, and the Town of Bedford Police Department. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation aimed at curbing the local drug trade and addressing the intersection of drugs and firearms.
The following individuals were arrested and charged:
William Thurston – Possession of Schedule I or II controlled substances
Jeffery Phillips – Possession with intent to distribute controlled substances
Jeffrey Reynolds – Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I or II substance, Possession of a firearm by a felon
Bryant Reynolds – Distribution of a controlled substance (x3), Possession of a controlled substance
Kassadi Hartman – Distribution of a controlled substance (x3)
Brian Nellum – Distribution of a controlled substance (x6)
Sheriff Miller stated that the operation demonstrates the agencies’ commitment to addressing the opioid crisis and the dangerous nexus between illegal drugs and firearms. This crackdown is part of a broader effort to disrupt the local drug trafficking network and curb violent crime associated with narcotics distribution.
