Silent Killer, whose real name is Jimmy Mudereri, is currently detained at ZRP Matapi facing fraud charges. The popular artist known for the hit “Zvichitobhowa” is set to appear in Harare Magistrates Court tomorrow.
On June 3, Silent Killer was contracted by Seh Wish Entertainment to headline the Mambodo Birthday Bash scheduled for June 22, 2024. According to a representative from the company, he charged US$500 for his performance, receiving a US$250 advance payment, with the remainder due on the day of the event.
However, the promoter was taken aback when Silent Killer failed to promote the event on his social media, despite being the headliner. On the day of the show, fans gathered eagerly, but he did not show up. Attempts to reach him were unsuccessful, as he ignored calls from Seh Wish Entertainment.
Days later, when contact was made, Silent Killer displayed rude behavior. In a recorded conversation, when asked about refunding the advance payment, he responded dismissively, questioning whether they would refund the gate fees to patrons and suggesting the promoter’s financial acumen was lacking.
Silent Killer later claimed he was awaiting another payment and would return the US$250, but he never followed through.
Seh Wish Entertainment disclosed that ZRP Matapi invited Silent Killer to the station, but he refused to attend. Consequently, he was apprehended on July 13. Sources confirmed to iHarare that he remains in custody and is expected to face court on July 14 regarding the fraud allegations.
iHarare reached out to Silent Killer’s management for comments; they denied any knowledge of his arrest, stating they had not heard from him and could not reach him by phone.
