The Sadar police in Sikar arrested two suspects and detained a minor on Saturday in connection with a theft case involving guar stolen from a field. The stolen goods were reportedly sold to fund the suspects’ lavish lifestyles.
According to Sadar SHO Indraj Marodia, the case began on February 1 when Mohammad Shoaib, a resident of Sikar, reported that 16 bags of guar and a spraying machine were stolen from his field on January 23. Upon arriving at the field the next morning, Shoaib’s father found the locks broken, with guar scattered outside the premises.
The police registered a case and began their investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and receiving a tip-off about two suspects who often visited the village using rented cars. A raid on their hideout led to their confessions, and the police arrested Nirmal Kumar (19) and Ajay Kumar (22), both residents of Sikar. A minor was also detained in the case.
The suspects admitted that they had stolen the guar to support their luxurious lifestyles. They were presented in court and remanded, and further investigations are underway to uncover other possible thefts. The police are also on the lookout for individuals who purchased the stolen goods.
