On Friday morning, Shubham Gajbhiye, a 26-year-old drug peddler, was arrested by the Wathoda Police with 25 grams of Mephedrone powder. The arrest was part of a planned operation after authorities received multiple complaints regarding the distribution of MD powder near a local institution.
The Wathoda police team, led by Senior Inspector Harish Borade, was tipped off about Gajbhiye’s activities and successfully apprehended him early in the morning on Tarodi Khurd Road. The suspect has a history with narcotics-related offenses, having been arrested previously for similar crimes. Additionally, Gajbhiye has been involved in an assault case.
This operation comes after repeated reports from the management of a reputed institution about the growing drug peddling activities in the vicinity. Responding to these concerns, Wathoda Police, under the direction of CP Ravinder Singal, increased their vigilance around the area, including monitoring local pan kiosks that were suspected of being involved in the drug trade.
Gajbhiye’s arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb the narcotics problem in the area, and investigations are expected to continue as authorities work to uncover more details regarding the trafficking network.
