The May 3 murder of Satyendra Kumar, a 35-year-old pharmacist, in Malauli village has been traced to a love affair conflict, according to the police.
Satyendra was attacked outside a clinic and succumbed to injuries during treatment. Based on a complaint by his father, police detained 11 individuals, including a nurse and some relatives. However, all were found innocent following further investigation.
CCTV footage and an audio threat recording on the victim’s phone led police to crack the case. Investigations revealed that Shubham Awasthi, a resident of Manauli, was upset over Satyendra’s relationship with a woman. He conspired with friends and relatives to carry out the murder.
On Sunday, Shriram Shukla and Pankaj Maurya were arrested as key accomplices in the case. Police continue to search for Shubham Awasthi, the alleged mastermind.
ASP Vikas Chandra Tripathi confirmed that the motive was linked to a personal dispute involving a romantic relationship.
