Shreveport, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department has successfully solved a multi-vehicle theft case that began in November 2024. Officers responded to a call regarding the theft of 22 vehicles from Morgan Buick GMC, located in the 8700 block of Business Park Drive. The investigation led to the discovery of a well-coordinated theft operation with an employee at the center of it all.

According to police, Joshua Ratliff, a dealership employee, is believed to have played a key role in stealing multiple key fobs from the dealership. These fobs were then used by Ratliff and his accomplices to systematically remove vehicles from the dealership’s lot. The stolen vehicles were then sold or moved through various channels.

Through further investigation, Shreveport police identified several individuals involved in the theft ring, including Deandre Below, Jerry Butler Jr., Jordan Baker, Lamale Gilyard, and Corbin Houston. The case evolved into a complex, months-long investigation, presenting significant challenges due to the large number of suspects and the scale of the theft operation.

The investigation kicked off when Deandre Below was arrested after he was found in possession of some of the stolen vehicles, which led to crucial leads in the case. Jerry Butler Jr. was arrested after attempting to sell one of the stolen vehicles. With the assistance of additional tips and investigative work, Shreveport police were able to connect the other suspects to the stolen vehicles.

“This case involved a high level of coordination and persistence,” said a Shreveport Police Department spokesperson. “Thanks to the diligence of our officers, we were able to track down the individuals responsible and recover the stolen vehicles.”

The operation highlights the extent of organized theft schemes and the challenges law enforcement faces when dealing with large-scale, coordinated criminal activity. As of now, all suspects have been arrested and face charges related to theft, conspiracy, and involvement in the operation.

Detectives continue to follow leads to determine if other vehicles or stolen goods can be recovered, and further charges could be brought against additional individuals involved in the theft ring.

This case serves as a reminder to both businesses and consumers of the importance of vigilance and proper security measures to prevent theft, especially in cases involving multiple suspects and intricate schemes.

Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Shreveport Police Department.
