Shreveport Officers Jones, Ross & Jackson Arrested in Theft Case

Officers accused of stealing from repossessed vehicle

SHREVEPORT, La. — Three officers with the Shreveport Police Department have been arrested following an internal investigation into a theft incident involving a repossessed vehicle.

The officers — Kourtney Pennywell-Jackson (30), Shanora Gipson-Ross (37), and Tarogie Jones (37) — were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on Friday. Each faces potential charges including theft and malfeasance in office, according to officials.

The investigation stems from a call the officers responded to at a local casino, where a towing company reported suspicious items inside a repossessed car. Allegedly, items were taken from the vehicle during the incident.

A video posted online — reportedly showing one officer returning some of the items to a local store — sparked further scrutiny. The SPD confirmed that all three officers were placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

According to department records:

Jones and Gipson-Ross have been with SPD since 2016

Pennywell-Jackson began as a dispatcher in 2018 before becoming an officer

The investigation is ongoing, and formal charges are expected.
