SHREVEPORT, La. — A corporal with the Shreveport Police Department, Arthur Green, 47, has been arrested for allegedly raping a juvenile family member, the department confirmed Monday.
The investigation began on June 14 after police received a report accusing Green of sexually assaulting an underage family member. Green was immediately placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Following a thorough inquiry, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Green with one count of first-degree rape. He was taken into custody on June 16 at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Green began his career in law enforcement in Shreveport in 2004 as a jailer and was commissioned as an officer in 2009. Authorities report that the alleged assault occurred while Green was off-duty.
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed his deep concern over the incident and reassured the public of the department’s commitment to holding all individuals accountable, regardless of their position.
The investigation is ongoing.
