KOTA BHARU: A 24-year-old shop assistant, Zulhairie Zulkifli, admitted in the Sessions Court today to two armed robbery charges, both of which occurred in the Pasir Puteh area.
The first charge relates to an incident on November 6, when Zulhairie allegedly used a knife to rob 26-year-old Siti Nurhaliza Salleh at the payment counter of a grocery store, stealing over RM400 in cash.
In the second incident, Zulhairie is accused of robbing 18-year-old Nurumairah Maslan on December 2, at a grocery store in Sungai Petai, Pasir Puteh. During the robbery, Zulhairie allegedly stole her wallet containing RM200 in cash and her identity card.
Both charges are framed under Sections 392 and 397 of the Penal Code, which carry a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison, along with fines or whipping.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Kamarul Hasyime Rosli led the prosecution, while Zulhairie appeared without legal representation. Judge Zulkifli Abdullah scheduled January 19 for the presentation of case facts and sentencing.
