Delhi Police have arrested three individuals, including the main accused Shoib alias Lalla, 31, in connection with the Rs1.5 crore jewellery theft from Kalyan Jewellers, located in Lajpat Nagar.
The burglary occurred during the night of January 28–29, when Shoib allegedly broke into the showroom through a window. The theft was discovered the next morning by the store manager, who found broken windows and missing valuables, prompting a police complaint.
Following investigation, police identified and arrested Sumit Soni (30) and Manik Kadam (42), who had purchased the stolen jewellery. Authorities recovered 100 grams of diamonds and 10 grams of gold from the duo, reportedly bought with the proceeds of the heist.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Ravi Kumar Singh confirmed the arrests and recovery. The case has been registered under BNS Section 331(4) (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night) and Section 305 (theft in a dwelling house or place of worship) at Lajpat Nagar Police Station.
Further investigation is underway to trace the remaining stolen jewellery and determine if others were
