In a significant development related to the Govandi firing case, Shivaji Nagar Police have arrested Rizwan Ansari, also known as Rizwan DJ, a close associate of the main accused, Nadeem. Authorities seized narcotics worth approximately Rs40 lakh from his possession.
Chief Assistant Police Inspector Rajvardhan Khebudey, in charge of NDPS operations, said Rizwan was caught red-handed during the operation, conducted under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Anagha Satavase, with the assistance of Police Head Constable Afzal Pujari and officers Survanshi, Sulake, and Veerkar.
Rizwan is currently in custody and being interrogated to uncover details about the larger drug trafficking network. Sources revealed that Rizwan had previously been questioned during the investigation into the Govandi firing incident. Police suspect that Nadeem, along with Tabbo, operated a drug supply network with several associates.
The probe also uncovered a series of personal disputes allegedly linked to the recent murder of Shifa. Four people, including Rizwan, have been arrested so far, and investigations are ongoing.
