The Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) police station in Shillong has apprehended four drug suppliers and confiscated a significant quantity of heroin weighing 691.54 grams, officials reported.

The operation began Monday night after the ANTF received intelligence that Jeremy Dkhar was planning to purchase drugs from a supplier identified as Lamtinkhup Vaiphei, residing in Lapalang.

Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the ANTF team was dispatched to Lapalang. Jeremy was located loitering at Dong Nongpdeng, Nongrah, and detained immediately. He then led the officers to the nearby residence of Thangboi Khaute, adjacent to his own home, where the heroin was hidden.

A thorough search under the NDPS Act recovered 62 soap boxes filled with heroin, totaling a net weight of 691.54 grams.

So far, four individuals — two males and two females — have been arrested in connection with the drug supply network. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to crack down on narcotics trafficking in the region.
