Warren County, MS — Another suspect, 48-year-old Sheryl Sue Assad, has been arrested in connection with last week’s drug bust on Tanglewood Drive. Sheriff’s deputies and investigators took Assad into custody around 1:00 p.m. on the 100 block of St. Patrick Street.

Assad faces charges of trafficking 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace revealed that Assad had rented the mobile home used by Thomas Jones to store the crystal meth.

Assad is currently booked at Warren County Jail and is scheduled to appear at the Warren County Justice Court on Wednesday. Sheriff Pace noted that the investigation into methamphetamine distribution across Vicksburg and Warren County remains ongoing.

The previous bust, conducted by the Vicksburg Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Office, resulted in the seizure of approximately half a pound (217 grams) of crystal methamphetamine, 131 pressed fentanyl pills, half an ounce of crack cocaine, and $4,148 in cash. The street value of the drugs seized was estimated at $7,800. Thomas Jones and Charley Lee Brown were also arrested in the operation.
