North Paravur police arrested Sherina, a 34-year-old temporary staff member at the Taluk Headquarters Hospital, for allegedly misappropriating Rs 3 lakh from hospital funds.
According to officials, Sherina, who worked in the hospital’s billing section, allegedly manipulated records for laboratory tests between April and October 2025. She reportedly collected money from patients, deleted receipts from the hospital system, and diverted the funds for personal gain.
A team led by Munambam DSP S Jayakrishnan apprehended her, and she was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. Authorities are reviewing hospital billing records to determine if additional staff were involved in the fraud.
