Mobile, AL — Sheka Walcott and Kaysia Turner were arrested this week by the FBI in Mobile as part of a federal crackdown on a lottery scam operation that allegedly defrauded victims by mail.
According to jail records, Walcott was taken into custody on Monday, April 7, and Turner was arrested two days later, on Wednesday, April 9. Both are named in a federal indictment alleging conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
The indictment reveals that Walcott, Turner, and four Jamaican nationals arrested earlier in February were part of a larger scheme to deceive individuals into believing they had won a lottery prize. The suspects then allegedly instructed victims to send money upfront—purportedly to cover taxes or processing fees—to addresses connected to the group in the Southern District of Alabama.
In total, ten individuals have been indicted in connection with the conspiracy, which spans multiple states and involves coordinated fraud efforts.
