Sheikh Arbaz, Rasheed Alvin Held in Ullal Ganja Bust

Police seize 1.1 kg ganja; third suspect Altaf absconding

The Ullal Police arrested two individuals and seized 1.1 kg of ganja during a raid conducted in Bagambila, Kotekar village, Ullal taluk.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sheikh Arbaz and Rasheed Alvin, both residents of Uppala, Kasargod. A third suspect, Altaf, managed to escape from the scene on a scooter and remains absconding.

Police carried out the operation after receiving specific information that three individuals were allegedly selling ganja to locals and college students in the area. During the raid, officers apprehended two suspects while the third fled.

Authorities recovered 1.1 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth around Rs51,500, along with Rs520 in cash, two mobile phones, and other related items from the accused.

A case has been registered at the Ullal Police Station under Sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway to locate the absconding suspect and uncover any wider drug distribution network.
