Shawnee Williams Arrested on Drug Charges in Knox County

Barbourville man faces multiple drug-related charges

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — Shawnee Williams, 55, of Barbourville, was arrested on Aug. 1 while law enforcement executed a Knox County Bench Warrant related to a Drug Court violation for second-degree possession of a controlled substance.

During the arrest, deputies found suspected methamphetamine, syringes, multiple plastic baggies, and two bags containing suspected marijuana.

Williams now faces additional charges including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana under eight ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, and providing false identification to officers.

He has been taken to the Knox County Detention Center pending further legal action.
