MESA COUNTY, Colo. — Deputies arrested two individuals found in possession of a stolen camper at Mud Springs Campground in Glade Park, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

Shawn Marx and Keri Merrill were located with the camper, which was reported stolen but remained at the campground. Both were charged with theft involving property valued between $20,000 and $100,000.

In addition to theft charges, Marx was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, while Merrill faced a charge for failure to appear in court.

The pair appeared in court Tuesday and were released on personal recognizance bonds. Marx was ordered to comply with registration requirements within 72 hours of his release.

Marx and Merrill are scheduled to return to court on August 12 for further proceedings.
