CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. — A Hopkinsville woman, Shauna Haas, was arrested on multiple drug and forgery charges following a proactive patrol by Christian County Sheriff’s deputies on April 23.
At around 8:30 p.m., deputies made contact with Haas, who was sitting in a parked vehicle on the 100 block of Carter Road. During their interaction, officers detected the smell of marijuana. A subsequent investigation revealed that Haas had an outstanding non-extraditable warrant out of Iowa.
A search of her vehicle uncovered suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a checkbook with several altered checks made out to Haas. Among the items found were gabapentin, clonidine hydrochloride, suspected methamphetamine residue, and marijuana.
Haas was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree
Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Forgery, 1st Degree
Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 2nd Degree
Unlawful Access to a Computer, 4th Degree
Haas was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
