Shapaul Moore Arrested After High-Speed DUI Chase in Florida
20-year-old faces multiple charges including fleeing and DUI
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A 20-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after leading Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers on a high-speed chase through Lehigh Acres.
The pursuit began around 3 a.m. on Lee Boulevard, when troopers attempted to stop a red Mustang for speeding. The driver, later identified as Shapaul Moore, turned off the car’s lights and fled at high speed in an attempt to avoid law enforcement.
The chase ended after troopers deployed a PIT maneuver, disabling the Mustang. The suspect’s vehicle and two parked, unoccupied cars were damaged during the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Moore was arrested and charged with:
DUI
Reckless driving
Fleeing and eluding law enforcement
Carrying a concealed weapon
Possession of marijuana
He was booked into custody following the incident. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
