Azad Nagar police arrested a burglar within 24 hours of a house theft on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as 23-year-old Shanu alias Shahnawaz Khan. He targeted a locked residence in Husaini Chowk while the homeowners were attending a wedding.
Acting on a tip-off, the police tracked down and apprehended Shanu. Authorities also recovered jewellery valued at Rs 8.37 lakh from his possession.
Police have registered a case and are continuing investigations to determine whether the accused was involved in any other similar burglaries in the area.
