MIDDLETOWN TWP., Pa. — Shannon James Lewis, 33, of Philadelphia, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and other offenses in connection with a shooting at the Oxford Valley Mall on June 19, 2025.
At approximately 5:03 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting near the JC Penney bus stop at the mall, located at 2300 East Lincoln Highway. The victim was found inside the mall with a gunshot wound to his left forearm.
According to the investigation, the victim was waiting for a SEPTA bus when Lewis approached him. After a brief conversation, Lewis allegedly pulled out a revolver-style handgun and shot the victim without further provocation. Several witnesses confirmed this account.
Detectives used surveillance footage from the mall and SEPTA, along with other evidence, to track Lewis’ movements between the mall and his home. He was identified via his SEPTA transit card and driver’s license photos. A revolver was recovered from Lewis’ home at the time of his arrest.
Lewis faces charges including:
Aggravated assault
Simple assault
Recklessly endangering another person
Possession of an instrument of crime
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Charles Jonas and is held at Bucks County Correctional Facility under a $750,000 bail set at 10%.
The case was investigated by the Middletown Township Police Department with assistance from Bucks County Detectives and the Philadelphia Police Department. Prosecution is led by Chief Deputy District Attorney Christopher W. Rees.
