Shaniyah Ronisha Dove Arrested in Duke Energy Fraud

Third suspect charged in $495K identity theft case

Wake County deputies have arrested a third individual in connection with a fraud investigation involving Duke Energy.

Shaniyah Ronisha Dove, 29, faces three counts of felony identity theft and one count of felony conspiracy. Authorities said the scheme involved opening numerous accounts in the names of living and deceased customers without their consent, resulting in nearly $495,905 in losses to Duke Energy.

The investigation began in July 2025. Two other suspects were previously arrested: Rafael Stefan Williams, 36, in October 2025, and Dazmyn Person, 39, in December 2025.

Wake County deputies say the investigation is ongoing.
