GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) — Shane Chatfield, a former employee of Caprock Academy, appeared in court Friday following his arrest in connection with a child exploitation investigation.
Chatfield was taken into custody on September 16 after allegedly sending explicit text messages to an adult man who was posing as a minor. Shortly after his arrest, he resigned from his position at Caprock Academy.
During the court hearing, Chatfield requested a change in legal representation and sought clarification regarding his bond conditions. His current bond terms prohibit alcohol consumption, require him to avoid contact with children, and restrict international travel.
Chatfield is scheduled to return to court on October 29.
