ALBION, N.Y. — A woman from Albion, Shandell M. Lissow, 37, has been arrested eight times over the past three weeks, marking a string of alleged petty crimes across Batavia and Albion.
Her first arrest occurred in Batavia on June 21, when she was charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing from a Kwik Fill gas station. Just days later on June 26, she was again arrested for stealing from Dollar General, and charged the same day with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
On June 29, Albion police said Lissow attempted to conceal a Twisted Tea in her purse while paying only for an Arizona Tea at Crosby’s North. Officers, familiar with her and aware of her outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court eight times, spotted her crossing the street and took her into custody. She was arraigned and released.
Her alleged theft continued on July 6, when she reportedly stole two scratch-off lottery tickets from Kwik Fill in Albion. She later claimed to have lost them.
On July 9, Lissow asked to use a bathroom at a home on East Avenue but was found in the homeowner’s bedroom stealing items. Security camera footage helped police identify and arrest her. That same night, she was arrested again after being found with a crack pipe and cocaine, leading to charges of misdemeanor drug possession.
Finally, on July 11, she was accused of stealing a cellphone after entering another Albion home and interacting with the homeowner’s children. She was charged with petit larceny once again and released on appearance tickets.
Despite the repeated offenses, Lissow has been released multiple times and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
